We are located in beautiful Youngstown, Ohio.
What is your hourly rate?
As of 2018, our hourly rate is $27 per hour. This rate will increase to $28 per hour in 2019.
New clients receive a rate lock for two years from when we begin working together.
I’m not anywhere near Youngstown, can you help me?
Of course we can help :). We are happy to work with anyone in the United States or Canada and have never found distance to be an issue.
I am local, can we meet to discuss the project in person?
The answer to this question used to be yes, with conditions. Unfortunately though, I can no longer meet people in person.
Luckily though there are a number of tools at our disposal to facilitate communication and exchange of ideas. I am available for phone meetings, email consultations, Twiddla whiteboard meetings or anything that might be convenient for you.
What is your typical turn around time?
If all goes smoothly, we do our best to stick with industry standard turn around times. So, for a photograph editing project, it would take from 2-5 business days. A simple website could take anywhere from one week to two months (depending on any mitigating factors). An in depth web design project could take anywhere from two months to a full year (though that is ridiculously rare and I am pretty sure it’s never happened). Logo design could take anywhere from 3 days to one month. Please remember that although we are your designers and developers, most projects are actually a team effort. You will be required to provide some or all of the following: text, content, design approvals, feedback, images, final approvals, email or phone correspondence.
How do we get started?
Contact us for a free consultation and estimate. Once you have approved our ideas or project plan, we will ask for a deposit. The deposit amount will depend on project type, length and overall estimate. Your deposit is non-refundable but should you change your mind about the project, it can be transferred into “store credit” for the first six months after payment. Then, it can be used for any of our services you might need. After the deposit has been received we will begin work on the project. From then on it depends on the type of work we are doing and will be explained to you in the consultation process.
I only paid for part of my project. Can I use the work you have given me already?
Vortex Design retains all rights to work until it has been paid for in full. Clients do not have permission to take ideas, concepts or drafts for usage or further development by someone else. In the event a client has been given a final product without making their final payment, that does not mean they get to use it.
In the event that a client runs into an issue with paying their invoice, they are invited to contact us to work something out.
